ABOUT
Born in Florida, raised in the Caribbean, Marie DeFreitas is a content creator now based in Raleigh, North Carolina. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, she has a BFA in Illustration, Writing and minor in Photography. She is the senior finance editor for HealthLeaders media, and has been published in online magazines and papers such as Medscape (WebMD), Telegraph Local, and HerCampus, where she was senior editor. Her illustrations have been published in journals like Port City Review and at companies like Piccardilla Clothing Co. She is the creator and owner of of startup Outrip Magazine, a climbing/outdoor magazine focused on outdoor equity. When it's below 90 degrees outside she loves rock climbing, hiking, camping and asking to pet stranger's dogs.
